Just released:
NEW UNEMPLOYMENT NUMBERS from the Nebraska Department of Labor
show slight increases across the state, but still below the national
average, Nebraska's overall unemployment for December was 2.9 percent,
the same as November and 0.2 percent lower than a year earlier. Unemployment rates for some Nebraska
cities/areas:
--Omaha, 3.0%
--Lincoln, 2.3%
--Grand Island, 3.2%
--Kearney, 2.2% (lowest among Nebraska cities)
--Columbus, 3.2% (highest among Nebraska cities)

Labor Force: 1,015,102
Employed: 985,387
Unemployed: 29,715
NE Unemployment Rate: 2.9%
National Unemployment Rate: 5.0%
